How did she change the world ?

Mary Kingsley was pioneering ideas of racial equality. She introduced african population as different people but equal to us. She wrote two books and one became a bestseller : Travels in West Africa. She also proposed a new political organization for western Africa. She has also been an example of a strong woman and lauded equality between men and women. She was a lonely woman who explored unknown lands. That was incredible for Victorian era! After she died, some authors wrote about Mary Kingsley, like John Keay in 1985. In the 5th volume of his series « Explorers Extraordinary » which count the story of an explorator in every chapter. There is also the book «Kingsley » by Esteban Mathieu, which wanted to tell her real journey, adding more details than what we can find in History books.
